Enduroshield Glass FAQs
What is the best way to clean my shower screen once it has been treated?
A mild detergent with a sponge works well. A micro fibre cloth with water works just as well and saves you money on cleaners. Alternatively you can purchase our repel cleaner. It is not recommended to use any abrasive, bleach or high alkaline products on a treated shower.
How often should I clean the shower screen?
A quick clean is recommended once a week to keep the surface clean.
Will the coating crack, peel or discolour over time?
No the coating is only 2 molecules thick and is invisible. There is nothing that will crack or discolour over time. It is unlike a lacquer or varnish.
Will coating gradually wash off with each use?
No the product is permanent. It is unlike some products that are silicone based and wear off over a period of time.
How much area will each kit cover?
EnduroShield™ for glass will cover approximately 8 square meters which is equivalent to the inside of 2 average showers. The Tiles & Grout Kit will cover approximately 6 square meters.
Will the surface become patchy if the coating is worn off in any way?
No. The coating is only two molecules thick and transparent, thus it does not change the appearance of the surface. If an abrasive was to be used, it would not be visible where it was worn away. That area would, however, be harder to clean. The unprotected surface can be easily repaired by cleaning the area and re-spraying with EnduroShield™. The molecules will bond directly to the untreated surface.
How long will the coating last?
Accelerated testing carried out, simulated cleaning a shower screen and tiles & grout over a 10 year period. The results revealed that after this time there were minimal or no change to the molecules structure.
Do I need to mask fixtures and fittings when I coat the area?
No, the product is not corrosive and will not harm fixtures and fittings. If the product does come in contact, the fixtures or fitting will become water repellent for a short period of time until the product wears off.
Can the coating be used on exterior glass?
Yes, the coating is UV stable and will not breakdown. Great for windows, glass doors, balustrades and pool glass fencing.
Enduroshield tile and grout FAQs
Does the coating get attacked by chemicals?

Do I still need to seal the tiles after I apply this product?
No, the coating not only creates an easy to clean surface, but a permanent protective barrier to resist staining.
Can I apply the product over tiles that have already been sealed with a product?
No, the product needs to be applied to untreated tiles and grout to bond with the original surface.
If I apply to my toilet, can the coating remain underwater?
Yes, it can. The molecules are permanently bonded, and are impervious to water.
Will a toilet brush remove the coating if applied to a toilet?
No. The bristles on a toilet brush are not strong enough to scratch the surface.
Hard water stain remover FAQs
Why do glass and tiles get badly stained? – Glass and Tiles are porous and our water has numerous contaminants in it which along with shampoo and soaps, adhere to the surface. These can be hard to remove with everyday cleaners.
What causes staining on surfaces? – When water droplets are left on the surfaces, the water evaporates off leaving behind minerals, which adhere to the porous surfaces.
Why do you need to use the HWSR? – This is a product specially designed to remove calcium, limescale, minerals, watermarks, soap scum body fats & shampoo which other cleaners are unable to do.
What can it be used on? – Our HWSR can be used on a range of hard surfaces in the home ie Glass, Tiles/Ceramics, Chrome, Stainless Steel & Vitreous enamel. This product should not be used on soft surfaces like acrylic or plastics. Please see our HWSR for Acrylics and soft surfaces.
How does it work? – Our HWSR needs to be used with our white non scratch pad and worked in a circular motion with moderate fingertip pressure. If required and to make it easier, we recommend the used of our Velcro Drill Kit. Once the surface loses its ‘furry’ feel and begins to ‘squeak’, cleaning is complete.
How often should you use it? – If the surface is not protected with a Protector, staining will re-occur and you will need to clean again with the HWSR. The frequency will depend on the water quality and the usage.
Is it hazardous? – It is a user-safe, non-caustic and non-chlorinated surface cleaner, which is safe for the use with Septic tanks.
Tubby DIY Bath Resurfacing and Repair FAQs
Why resurface and not replace?
Save Money – The main benefit is cost. Resurfacing can save you up to 70% of the cost of replacement. With resurfacing you don’t have plumbing, retiling, reflooring or building costs.
Unlock Hidden Value – Resurfacing will restore your bathware to its original glory and leave a brilliant, smooth and inviting finish to make the bath the centre of attention in any bathroom.
No Hassle – With Tubby, resurfacing your bath only takes about 3 hours and you can use your new bath 48 hours later. No special skills are required. You don’t need to worry about re-plumbing, re-flooring, re-tiling or building. A much more appealing option than having to co-ordinate workmen working in your bathroom for a week or two.
Can I resurface the rest of the bathroom as well?
Yes transform your whole bathroom. The Tubby material is designed to be applied to baths, basins, tiles and toilet pedestals.
Can I change the colour of my bathroom?
You can resurface dated coloured bathrooms in a brilliant, clean and modern white finish.
How long will the newly resurfaced bath last?
Every bath is subjected to different conditions so there is no definite answer, however, we have been in business since 1986 and our experience has shown that a well looked after bath can last for many years.
When do I need to resurface my bath?
Your bath needs to be resurfaced when the enamel coat has worn thin and you can feel pitting (series of very small holes) or roughness. Alternatively you can resurface your bath if it is stained or you just want to modernise your bathroom to a fresh clean look.
Can I just repair a chip or scratch without doing a full resurface of my bath?
Yes you can. We get many calls from people who have dropped tiles, metal plugs or loose objects into the bath and chipped the surface. If this is the case, then don’t worry, it is easily repaired! We can provide you with a DIY chip repair kit. The chip repair kit is actually a small amount of our Tubby bath enamel resurfacing material which is applied directly to the damaged area.
