Surface Protect really began as a response to a common customer query. Being involved in the Bathroom industry since 1986, and in people's bathroom on a daily basis with Mend A Bath International, Dave and Andrew were constantly being asked by customers:

"How can I get my shower glass clean?"
Wanting to be able to help our customers with this problem we started the search for a solution.  Immediately it became evident that there was a real gap in the market.  After extensive research, trials and experimenting, we came up with the Shower Shield Watermark and Grime Remover, the only product that would actually remove the stubborn watermark on shower glass.

The response from customers was amazement and relief that there was a product that solved this problem.  Then there was another question..

"Is there some way of keeping it like new without extensive scrubbing and cleaning?"

And the search continued....
We began researching to find a product which would seal and protect the glass to reduce cleaning.  The solution was the Shower Shield Protector.
But the search didn't stop there.  Wanting to provide customers with a permanent solution, we now also provide a permanent protective coating for glass and a permanent protective coating for tiles.

Since then we have continued to expand our product range based on customer's expressed needs and feedback.  This includes

Home Shows - Travelling the length of the country
Initially one of our main points of sale and a big part of our marketing which we have particularly enjoyed is local Home Shows and Trade Shows throughout New Zealand. These involve direct face-to face-contact and conversations with our customers who provide valuable feedback.  We continue to exhibit at Shows throughout the country.  We would love you to come and see us at a show. Website Launch
Recognising the fast pace of life these days and wanting to offer customers in depth information on products and to make it easy to purchase anywhere, anytime, in 2010 we launched the Surface Protect website.

Expansion across the ditch
The success in the business and positive response in New Zealand prompted us to look into expansion to Australia.  Once again we found that there was a gap in the market and a customer need for an affordable effective way of cleaning hardwater stains off glass showers.  We had to share!  Our products are available throughout Australia.  See www.surfaceprotect.com.au
